Gynec-Obs Notes

• Blood flow at term in uterus - 500-750 ml/min.
• Placental circulation formed - 21st day.

1. Ovular/germinal period - ( Ovulation---> 2 week )
2. Embryonic period - ( 3-8 weeks )
3. Fetal period - ( 9th week----> delivery )

Rx Chloasma - hydroquinone (2%) after delivery.

• Ideal anti-natal visit ---> 12-14
• Minimum -----> 3

Duration of Pregnancy

1. 10 Lunar months.
2. 9 calendar months and 7 days.
3. 40 weeks
4. 280 days from fertilization day.
5. 266 days ovulation age. ( 280-14= 266 )

Active labour cervical dilation - 1.2 cm/hr

Lochia

1. Rubra 1-4 days
2. Serosa 5-9 days
3. Alba  10-15 days

PPH when blood loss > 500cc.

Liquor max at 36-38 weeks.

Surfactant appear in amniotic fluid at 28 weeks & 32 weeks.

Amniotic Fluid 

• 12 weeks - 50 ml
• 38 weeks - 800 ml

Post term pregnancy - 294 days

                                  - 2 weeks beyond EDD.

• Most common female pelvis - Gynaecoid
• LC female pelvis - Platypelloid
• Mc urban women cancer - Breast cancer.
